Job Summary:

The Photo Retoucher is responsible for producing high-quality, visually consistent imagery through expert-level retouching techniques. This role requires advanced proficiency in colour correction, skin retouching, compositing, and non-destructive editing workflows. A strong eye for detail, technical precision, and the ability to manage high-volume outputs across varied shooting environments are essential.

This position collaborates closely with photographers, creative directors, and designers to ensure all visual assets meet the highest creative and brand standards across digital, print, and e-commerce platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Retouch high volumes of images while maintaining quality, consistency, and brand aesthetics.

• Perform advanced image enhancements including:

- Skin smoothing and retouching

- Liquify adjustments

- Background cleanup or replacement

- Colour grading and compositing

• Process raw images, ensuring proper file handling and conversion.

• Apply expert colour correction to ensure accurate and consistent results across different lighting setups and camera profiles.

• Ensure all imagery meets studio quality standards in terms of lighting, skin tone, and overall appearance.

• Collaborate closely with creative directors, photographers, and creative team to align creative vision with technical execution.

• Prepare final assets in required formats for various platforms including print, digital, and ecommerce.

• Maintain a consistent and organized file-naming and layer management system.

• Conduct final quality control checks before image delivery.

• Stay current with industry standards and best practices in photo retouching and digital imaging workflows.

Qualifications & Skills

• A minimum of 2 to 4 years of professional experience in high-end photo retouching, preferably

within commercial, fashion, or editorial photography environments

• Strong understanding of photography principles, lighting techniques, and colour theory• Exceptional attention to detail with a keen eye for tone, texture, and precision

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while meeting tight deadlines

• A compelling portfolio demonstrating advanced retouching skills, including skin retouching, colour grading, and compositing, with clear before-and-after examples

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to receive and implement constructive feedback effectively.

• Flexibility to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting

• Experience with video colour grading or motion graphics is an advantage

• Familiarity with digital asset management systems is preferred

• Awareness of current visual trends in commercial and e-commerce photography
